“Rich has taught my son to drive this year, my son has autism. Rich is always very calm and is great at explaining things to him. They got on really well and always made him feel relaxed by chatting to him. Rich also gives out sheets explaining manoeuvres and the different skills you need while learning to drive. “I really enjoyed my lessons with Richard, throughout my course he was very patient and understanding. I’d driven before with another instructor but we’d not got on well, so I felt I needed a change, I think it took me about 4 months to finally get the courage back to ring another instructor, then I found Edwards school of motoring – from the start he was friendly and helpful, always on time and I always had his full attention. Also, I never felt uncomfortable in the car which was an important point for me due to past experiences, I loved his clear explanations and I loved that he went out of his way to make sure I did everything to the best of my ability.
One major point for me was that he was fully flexible with times, he always worked around my shifts in work with no bother at all. He went to great lengths to ensure Iwas happy with all aspects of driving. His fun-nature and patience was greatly appreciated. “My dad recommended Edward school of motoring to me when I mentioned I wanted to start my driving lesson and I must say that I had an amazing time driving, the driving instructor is very friendly, professional, he explains both the theory and practical in a very profound way. he is very helpful too. “This is a testimonial to the high standards I am receiving from Richard Edwards from Edwards School of Motoring. I am currently learning to drive with the assistance of Richard. He is highly professional, friendly, prompt and understanding. Richard teaches in a relaxed manner at a speed you feel comfortable with, and although there is a lesson objective, its more of a direction rather than a must achieve this in this lesson. Richard allows you to make mistakes and instead of shouting or becoming agitated, he explains how the mistake happened, why it happened and how to put it right. Even when you make the same mistake again, he calmly explains again using slightly different wording and real life comparisons.
His car is always clean, both externally and internally and is clutter free. Richard’s website is well laid out and very informative. I found full contact details and the pricing information extremely helpful. Richard treats you as an individual, rather than another person learning to drive. Learning to drive with him feels like your the only one who is important. The lessons go at the speed I feel comfortable with rather than what must be achieved in a lesson. I find the hand outs at the end of the lesson useful as it backs up what you learn on the lesson. The lessons are well thought out, from what your going to be doing, to where you are going to be doing it. The lessons flow from one skill one into the next, picking up on what you know and enhancing it to include more maneuvers.
If your feeling worried, nervous or anxious about learning to drive then I would definitely recommend Richard. I found Richards flexibility to fit the lessons around my own free time a great help. “Having decided later in life to learn to drive and after having tried and failed my tests with other driving schools, I started driving with Edwards School of Motoring – both my step – daughters had been taught by Richard and had passed their tests first time.
